Assumptions this calculator makes
- Every quote is compared at the same guest count.
- An item marked included costs nothing extra, so it counts as zero in the subtotal.
- An item marked unknown is never counted as zero. It is listed separately as an open question.
- A percentage line applies only to the lines you attach it to.
What it does not do
- The tool never names a winner. A quote with fewer unknowns may still be the more expensive one once the unknowns are answered.
- Contract terms, cancellation policies, and date holds are not modelled.
- Uploading and parsing a contract is out of scope; you enter the lines yourself.
